“Man out of Heaven”.  5/12. Limited edition of 12. The plate size is 4 ¼ x 4 ¼ inches and the mat (the white frame) is 7 ½ x 7 ½ inches. Sintracut, 2020

Description: The print represents the pelvic area of Adam with a leaf covering his genitals. The image is based on Albrecht Durer’s classic depiction of the biblical story, in which Adam, tempted by Eve, bites from the apple of knowledge and realizes that he is naked. For this reason, humans were banned from the heavenly Garden! It is a symbol of violence as man (and God) blame women for what happened in the Garden! And at the symbolic level, this paved the way for our Western patriarchal society.
